Our Suppliers
We aim to source as much locally produced ethically reared
food as possible.
All of our meat is British, and local where possible. Our Welsh beef and lamb is supplied by Battams of Oswestry and EKA Roberts of Woolston.
All of the chicken we use is free range and from Springfield Farm, Hereford. The Navigation has
also been awarded the British Hen Welfare Trust Gold certificate recognising that all our eggs and eggs used in
ingredients (such as ice cream) are free range.
Our pork products come from Hartshorns Butchers of Oswestry who are able to supply us with free range, outdoor reared pork products.
General fruit and vegetables are supplied by AC Edwards & Sons, a family
run specialist vegetable supplier based in Oswestry. Wherever possible our side
portions of vegetables are made up of seasonal produce most of which is grown
locally and bought from small suppliers such as Llynclys Farm Shop Sweeney,
Oswestry and Firfield Vegetables here in Maesbury Marsh.
The Navigation is proud to stock a range of traditional cask ales from breweries
across the UK
as guests which change every week. We also have a regular real ale which
is always available. This ale is called Station Bitter and is brewed by
Stonehouse Brewery who brew just a couple of miles away in Weston near
Oswestry.
All our wines are selected and supplied by Tanners Wines of
Shrewsbury, Tanners have been shipping and importing fine wines since 1842 and
are an independent business.
Many of our suppliers have websites where you can find out
more and buy online, they also attend farmers markets across the county, we
urge you to seek them out and give them your support.
