Our Philosophy


To create a place to eat and drink where everybody feels at home and is welcome goes some way to explaining the philosophy of The Navigation Inn but there is really more to it than that. In the bars the staff will take care to prepare your drinks correctly; the right glass for the right brand of drink, a good slug of ice, fresh fruit (always lime with a G&T!) etc. The beer cellar is kept at the right temperature and the beer pipes are always cleaned every week. The wine list is compiled in conjunction with renowned wine merchant Tanners of Shrewsbury.

In the dining room the philosophy is fresh, home cooked and wherever possible local. Menus change throughout the year to reflect the seasons and to keep the selections exciting. The majority of dishes are prepared from scratch by the kitchen brigade along with soups, sauces and desserts. The Navvy is also proud to source and serve local produce whever possible from local specialist farms and butchers and we make every effort to serve ethically produced British meat and poultry including free range chicken, eggs, pork and pork products.
